Conclusion: Teacher Leader Recommendations & Action Steps

In conclusion, as a teacher leader, my focus on Domain VI: Improving Outreach and Collaboration with Families and Community can help me make a significant difference in several important school improvement issues. By establishing positive relationships with families and the community, I can help create a supportive environment that helps my students, colleagues, and the administration. Increasing parent engagement and establishing open communication with families and local businesses can help make the school community stronger and help meet the needs of everyone. The SIP’s action steps, such as creating a Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), holding regular community events, and providing professional development opportunities focused on culturally responsive teaching and behavioral management are all strong recommendations for improving the school culture. My personal teacher leadership in this domain showcases my commitment to creating an environment where all students feel seen and valued; while also ensuring a more dedicated focus on students’ academic success. Recommended Action Steps Use evidence-based curriculum design and teaching strategies Create a culture that is inviting and inclusive for all students Provide professional development opportunities for teachers and staff Increase parent engagement and parent relationships with the school
